Issue

During one of our regular inspections, the TBZ team identified a small raw-water leak coming from the air conditioning pump housing.
The leak originated from a hairline crack on the centrifugal outlet — extremely minor at first glance, but enough to begin dripping into the bilge.

This type of issue can rapidly worsen under pressure or vibration, potentially causing loss of cooling, pump failure, or in worst cases, progressive flooding if left unnoticed.

Because this vessel is part of our management program, our team routinely checks the engine room three to four times per week and monitors all key systems — including AC and bilge pumps — via onboard cameras installed for remote supervision.

Thanks to this proactive oversight, the issue was caught early and addressed before any escalation.

Our Solution

The TBZ team immediately isolated and inspected the pump.
After confirming the source of the leak, the unit was depressurized, cleaned, and temporarily stabilized to prevent further dripping.
To maintain interior comfort and prevent humidity damage, we also installed a portable air conditioning unit in the salon, ensuring stable temperature and protecting the interior finishes while the main pump was serviced.

We coordinated with the owner to schedule a controlled replacement of the pump housing before it could fail under load.
