Issue

During routine onboard checks, the TBZ team noticed a clanking noise coming from the galley wine cooler.
Before calling a refrigeration technician, we decided to perform an in-house inspection to prevent unnecessary expenses and downtime.

After removing the unit, the noise was traced to the top cooling fan inside the wine cellar — model Isotherm SBG00043AA (Horizontal Fan, Wine Cellar Divino 23/35 Bottles).

Upon disassembly, we discovered a broken rubber grommet that holds the fan in position. This caused the fan to vibrate and make the clanking noise.

Our Solution

The TBZ team carefully dismantled the upper fan assembly, assessed the mount, and determined that a small repair could restore functionality without waiting weeks for a replacement.

The grommet was professionally repaired and reinforced using marine-grade adhesive and vibration-absorbing sealant.
Once cured, the fan was reinstalled, tested under full operation, and confirmed to run quietly and smoothly.
